Super sweet and easy.....again!

Good Friday to all....is it really Friday - can it really be???? I feel like I have lost several days this week but the reality is that I did lose several days but I am going to be Rocky and rebound! (after hearing them play the Rocky theme song when the Pope was in Philadelphia it made me think , I can be Rocky)...I am feeling soooo much better....

Today I am leaving to go to Atlanta for World Card Making Day and being able to see many special people that are near and dear to my heart and to be the BIGGEST sponge and take it all in! As of right now, I have nothing to take to work on but that's ok - I will pull together some things and yep - yikes - I need to make my swap cards!

I wanted to share with you another way to do a super simple and clean card that would hold up to any card you would ever find at a store! I adore this stamp set and I have an idea (you know me.....I think of things at the strangest times but I am going to think of something super fun with this stamp set)

I think the font and the sentiments of this stamp set are just wonderful and I think that you are going to like my idea if I can figure it out! This stamp Set coordinates with a kit, and the kit is super cute.....(I need to blog about that too!) 

This is a great example of a "Wham BAM card" This would be a great card to make up and give as a gift, I know that I sure would like and appreciate a dozen of these to use throughout the year!

To me, there are 3 key elements that make this card....

• It is super clean and simple using just 1 stamp set
• The simple scoring on the sides makes is special
• I love coloring in the hearts randomly on the DSP = the icing on the cake!

I know that many of you are skeptical of the Note Card size and I must admit, I do not get it as it is a super size and the paper is fantastic - just like our heavy weight card stock plus it is the best bang for your buck!

I hope that this has inspired you that you do not have to make "time consuming cards" all the time - the end result will be super-de -duper! Trust me, there are times that I really enjoy the "me time" is making a challenging card, but this - right up my alley!

I was determined to take it easy these past 3 days and get lots of rest so I could go to Atlanta....I am looking so forward to it and I wish each and everyone of you were there with me! (Would we have FUN or what)

Remember, Leo is James puppy that he rescued and I have NO IDEA what he is other than one sweet boy! His legs are sooooo long and see how he has his back leg around the "new boy"

The SKY'S the LIMIT

This wonderful sentiment is from the Over the Rainbow Stamp Set and you can see below in the picture - it's a keeper...it is fun....it is super unique...and it covers so many different cards to be made!

On yesterdays post I shared with you how to make these FUN poppers and I was "pulling it together" with a FUN card for Hannah. I knew that I wanted to make her a special card and I think that this "nails it" to wish her the best for her last year at College!

Before we get to this fun card, I want to say a big "thank you" for the many comments and emails I received about taking that plunge with a video. I means so much as I have really been a turtle with my head in and it truly encouraged me, thank you.

Let's get to this SIMPLE yet CLASSIC Card. It is an odd size, 4 1/2" X 6" - you know that I love my odd sizes and with the envelope pinch board - why not?!?! Does this look familiar to you? My dear Stampin' Friend Sharon sent me this card that I blogged about and I told you that I would CASE it...how in the world could I not as it is just fabulous!

I just LOVE the color combination today! The DSP is from the Schoolhouse Collection and it is sooooooo much more than for "school age children" - I think that this is a super classic print. and then the stripe - WOWZERS!

You can see that the "classics and basics" work....the Big Shot, Circle Framelits, great paper, Trimmer, Simply Scored and of course, Stampin' Dimensionals....I REST MY CASE - you just cannot go wrong with having the basic tools as the basic will make you shine.....ALWAYS!

Let your imagination go wild with the different cards that you can make with this layout. I can easily see a Birthday card, a Holiday Card...it would be a SUPER Baseball card....always look at a card "that speaks to you" tell you how you can store that in your wonderful brain and pull it out later!

Making an envelope for this odd size card was easy with the punch board but I just wanted to really make the envelope super fun with this bold prints!

The prints are 1/2" and the navy is 1/4" - Isn't this super fun? Just take your time when doing this and I do love the green glue. Now if this does not make you smile.....please tell me why?

I cannot wait to make this card using a holiday stamp...and of course I will share it with you - I was going to do my famous dots on the stamped part but I restrained and I am glad that I did - it would have been too much!

I'm NUTS about you!

Guess what?

I am NUTS about you! 

Yep, that is such an understatement as in a million years I would have never imagined being 50+…having the time of my life in doing something that I love…learning how to blog but still being tech challenge but that's ok…and having cyber friends from all over!

It simply does not get much better than that!

Here is another “sneak peek" of some goodies that are in the new catalog….that calendar is rolling so September 1^st will be here before you know it!

You will be happy to know that this comes as a bundle (woot-woot, an instant 15% off) and having the punch is a time saver. I love the fact that the punch cuts out the "cap" as well as the "nut" so layering different textures and colors will be fun!

Several weeks ago I did a blog posting using the corrugated paper and not only did I love it ~ you did to. It seems to add an instant texture to your project and I love the feel of it embossed.

On Stamping School I saw a card being made with this paper and  this embossing folder!  What a fun effect and then using the sponge dauber on top is the icing on the cake!

The base of the Card is Early Espresso but I used the Soft Suede with the dauber to lightly go over the embossed trees to make it pop. I think using a shade lighter was key, as you want a subtle but effective look. The “key” is to have a very soft/light touch.

I was afraid that when I ran it through the Big Shot, (my main stampin’ man) it was going to squish the effect of the paper but it didn’t. It actually made is very soft, feeling like velvet.

The circle framelits were my help today (love those framelits that graduate in size). Being able to cut a ring out of the Early Espresso was a great way to add an extra spark to the card.

I simply added a small piece of the In the Woods DSP behind the circle (great way to use a minimal amount of DSP) and then adhered the adorable little acorn over it.  The Bakers Twine bow is the simple touch needed….with the help of a glue dot!

Do you remember that our envelopes come in Crumb Cake? Well...yep, they do and I must admit that I have not used them lately!

Using the same DSP I cut that to a piece of 2” X 6” (this way if you were to mass produce a card and want your envelope to have some FUN, you will get 12 envelope backs form 1 sheet of paper!) – the old olive piece is ½” wide.

Tomorrow John and I are heading out to take Hannah back to college….she will be starting her Senior year and she is our “Red Caboose” I have a great 2 day post ready for you over the weekend.

Get ready to have a great weekend. It is hard to believe that summer is coming to an end. Where we live I started to see school buses already. Heck ~ I can remember that when I went to school it was after Labor Day….I hate to think that there are little peeps having to go back so soon!

Childhood memories!

 

Ok - I am sure when you see this card you are going to say..."What the heck is up with that title of today's post"??? Well...if you are anything like me, when I was young I loved to get a fresh coloring book and a new box of crayons and color away!

That is exactly what I did for todays card....it looks like it would have been hard and time consuming but I must say....it was SUPER-DE-DUPER fun and relaxing to color! Do you remember that on yesterdays card I used the Blender pens...well they are my new favorite best friend.

WHY IN THE WORLD HAVE I NOT PLAYED WITH THEM?...SILLY SUSAN!

Today is the Pals Paper Art Challenge and this week it is a color challenge (my favorite) and here is the palette for today.....please play along - I would love to see your work in the gallery.

You know that I adore the Aqua Painters and I still do and always will but I must say, I did not play with the blender pens much at all and after yesterday I thought....lets try it again! Many of you are timid with the Aqua Painters and if that is you....than I would say - purchase the Blender Pens to build your confidence up!

I will go in and respond to your comments yesterday while I enjoy my coffee....I am liking having my "me time" with you....my cyber friends! I adore hearing from you!

There is nothing to it at all...if you can color with a crayon, than you can color with a blender pen. I squeezed the top of the ink pad to get some ink on the inside cover then simply took the blender pen to pick up a bit of ink and colored away!

I am the first to say that I do not understand the whole "shading....looking to how the light goes.....etc" - I just color away! There is nothing to it other than deciding on the colors that you want to use! This was a cinch today as I follow the palette and the extra is crushed curry!

This stamp set is a beauty! The font on the sentiments is very beautiful and the floral images are clean, fresh and oh so easy to color! Today, I used the Black Staz On Ink and you can see in the below picture of the stamp set that I used both floral stamps and just "fit them together"...with the help of my stamp-a-ma-jig!

I hope that you can see that I am still being "true to my clean and simple style" with this card. It looks fussy because of the coloring but the coloring was the FUN part!

The funny thing was that I was just playing around with a scrap of paper and thought...what the heck - try to connect both floral images and it worked so I ended up with an odd size. How did I adapt it? Simple just added 1/4" all the way around and even though it is a bit shorter, it fits and looks great in a regular envelope!

The outer liner is from the Brights DSP Stack and the words are just PERFECT with the sentiment on the front of the card. These stacks are sooooo darn tootin HOT and I am so glad that I am offering them again on my product share.

I know that you will love this picture....too sweet - there is only one Eddie....he has not been eating much lately but his energy has been good - loving his ball and swimming! Everyday is a gift.

p.s. - oops I forgot to mention this one.....you have heard me say COUNTLESS times that the itty bitty accent punches are a must have...well they are - but did you see that I used an epoxy sticker over top of a razzelberry heart and look at how instant FUN it brought!
