I know that we are all getting super busy with the many check lists that the holidays bring to our lives so I am going to try to share with you some easy, practical and fun projects that you can whip up in no time using products that you have!
The best thing about making tags is simple....
THE ARE NO RULES...OTHER THAN TO HAVE FUN!
If you are one that feels like it is hard to create and find a style that works for you....than this is the BEST way to develop a style and get your "Mojo" going! Tags are truly fun to make and naturally they can be used for so many occasions/themes.
Today I am showing you some fun pictures of tags that I made to give as hostess gifts to people we visit over the holidays! To me there is nothing better than a good old classic Mason Jar, so I decided to utilize them and fill them with tags and coordinating ribbon.
Because they are in a jar, they are protected from the weather when you are going somewhere, they are super easy to store and have ready in a jif, and the best is....they are practical!
Tomorrow I will give you a breakdown of all of the basic recipe that I use when making tags! This is a project that really allows you to go thru your scraps....use them up....pull out stamp sets that you have not used in a while and GO TO TOWN and HAVE FUN!
You can clearly see a color scheme and them going on - please pop back tomorrow and I will share with you some tips and tricks in how to make a bunch of tags in an easy , methodical way! This is the time of the year that we are using up paper and this is a super way to mix and match what you have on hand and make something super special!
Way before Stampin' Up! I always made my own tags....and if I can find one I will share it with you! It was a super adorable snowman that was the "HIT" on my packages, I just love the extra handmade touch of making your own tags....what do you think? Do you make tags???
I personally love wrapping gifts. I think that the wrapping process is the fun way to express yourself to make the recipient both super excited and also have them try to guess what is inside. I often will write a clue on a tag to see if they can guess what is inside! (Trust me... my kids have seen all of my tricks...I just hope that they continue the tradition with their own children some day)
Please go and have a GREAT day and then come back tomorrow and be ready to learn the basic A,B,C;s of being a tag making pro!
Love this idea putting tags in the mason jar and your tags are so cute! I have put a gift card in a mason jar and then decorated with a ribbon and tag...something special to make the receiver smile! I make my own tags, too....Christmas as well as all occasions.I have a frame with chicken wire hanging in my kitchen where I have a few tags (one inspirational quote as well) on display that I change with each season/holiday. Super fun and super easy! Enjoy your day!

These tags are ADORABLE! I also love your jar. Each year I usually get together with a friend and we make gift tags galore...nothing dresses up a gift like a homemade tag. It does make me a little sad thinking they will probably get thrown away right away though :(

Great tags and I, too, make my own. I try to make the tag coordinate with what the gift is as well as the wrapping paper....last year hubby and I gave our daughter and son-in-law a new self propelled lawn mower....so, of course, I used some tall grass on the tag, along with lots of other stamps and die cuts that looked like their home, yard, etc. Lots of fun....looking forward to tomorrow.

Oh what fun it is to make AND to receive! I don't have that many presents to use tags on but I have seen people use them on cards and that is so much fun! Then, the recipient can take them off the card if they want and use them as their tag on a present! Such a fun way of using scraps of paper and ribbons up! Wasn't there a snowman in the button buddy set? Hey, I can get rid of some of those loose buttons that come off in the laundry that I am too lazy to find which shirt they came off. If there isn't a button on the front missing or the cuff, who cares? Also, they can use tags as ornaments! When we were first married we couldn't afford lots of cool ornaments so I made some cross stitch ones. Also, I cut up manila folders for tags and cut up fun wrapping paper to decorate the tags. I made a bunch of Holly Hobby ones from a used piece of gift wrap! Then, of course my Holly Hobby doll was under the tree or nestled in the branches. Oh what fun and oh what memories!

These are so cute/fun! I have not "gotten into" making tags, but the posts, yours and others, I've been seeing lately have made me interested in the idea! I need to just get to it!
This is a busy week for me. Our stuff is coming on Wed. and I have a party to go to on Sat. Yikes!
Have a great weekend!
Cyberhugs!

Great, great way to use scraps. I love to wrap my gifts, sometimes I put bows, but I never put a tag. Most of the time I'm using a Sharpie to write a name in a corner. I already feel like I'm behind. Hope this week is calmer.
:)

Love this idea Susan, great customer gifts also. Will have to play with this idea:)
I received my swap card, and thank you for the specal card from you, love both of them. In fact the swap card I need to go back and see who made it, I've never seen that particular design and I love it. One of must customers saw it to day and she was impressed. may use that design at my next workshop, I'm sure there is something in the new occasions catalog that will be perfect. Thanks again for for hosting the swap it was fun and I got several new ideas.
A very Merry Christmas to you and your family and hope you have a great new year.
